We at Bride of Christ Encounter Ministries have conducted church services in the Hollywood, Florida area since 2002. We are a Fellowship that believes in the Word of God and salvation by faith alone. Coming to worship with us is like coming Home! Our people are so warm and friendly, and you will make close friends very quickly! Headley Phillips (Senior and Founding Pastor / Bride of Christ)
Ministry:
In Jamaica as a teenager, Headley became involved in preaching as well as in other active forms of ministry, at the invitation of churches and their leaders. These included Youth Fellowships, Summer Camps, Youth retreats, Campus Crusades for Christ, Inter-School Christian Fellowship-ISCF), Evangelistic Outreach Crusades (often area-wide and jointly with several churches), Bible Teaching, Church Membership Classes, National Evangelistic Crusades (including the Billy Graham Evangelistic Crusades in Jamaica), Keswick Conventions (inter-denominational and held yearly), among others.
In 1977, during his second year of theological training, Headley was invited to head a Church-Planting effort in Portmore Jamaica. Headley served there for eight years as Founding Pastor of the Waterford Missionary Church, until his migration to the USA in 1985. This church became very successful and held the distinction of having facilitated and supported nine pastors (from within their membership) throughout the completion of their theological training.
In New York, Headley served as Youth Director and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, (located in the Borough of Bronx), before he relocated to South Florida.
In South Florida, he served at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Hollywood, Fl. as Minister of Youth, Director of Evangelism, Deacon, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Member of the Pastor Search Committee and Preacher/Teacher as needed. He also undertook and completed a Masters’ degree in Religion at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University). Subsequently, he embarked upon studies toward the Master of Divinity degree at the Knox Theological seminary.
At the Bride of Christ Encounter Ministries he is serving as Founding Pastor, Senior Pastor and numerous roles as needed to support and facilitate the development and growth of the church in pursuit of its Vision and Mission.
PASTOR JEFFETH R. BROWN
Received his Pastoral and Theological Training from the United Theological College of the West Indies and the University of the West Indies, Kingston Jamaica; respectively.
Served as Pastor of the Lucea Circuit of Baptist Churches: Hanover, Jamaica :under the auspices of the Jamaica Baptist Union, for approximately twenty years.
After migrating to the United States, worked in the Clothing Retail and Real Estate Sales and Purchasing industries.
Received the Master in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University, and worked as Mental Health Counselorserving families and children in the Inner City of Ft. Lauderdale for several years.
Became Co-Pastor of ‘Bride of Christ Encounter Ministries’ from its inception in 2002 offering Pastoral, Counseling and Supervisory Services.
